Good morning everyone! This week I am pleased to share an unexpected alliance between French Haute Couture and Italian Luxury Lingerie. And funny enough, I learned of the news while listening to the radio. {How very French is it to discuss high fashion on a morning radio show, no?}
I was headed to work as the disc jockeys buzzed about Jean Paul Gaultier’s partnership with La Perla. The French designer has licensed a beautiful range of lingerie through the luxe Italian line, and hard as I tried, the only vision that came to mind was the iconic cone bra Gaultier created for Madonna’s legendary Blonde Ambition Tour.
Imagining the streets of Paris with ladies bustling about in cone bras, I smirked to myself and went on my way. But after researching the line… I realized this was a match made in honeymoon heaven.The collection represents the perfect mix women are craving when buying honeymoon lingerie: a touch of glamour, lace and fine details {from La Perla} and a hint of sensuality and modernity {brought by Gaultier’s unconventional design}.
The 27-piece line of corsets, bodysuits and bras, all represent Gaultier’s soft, shocking, yet feminine style. They bring a bit of the runway to lingerie, as well as to your honeymoon suite in Tahiti.
Of course, owning a bit of Gaultier doesn’t come cheap {pieces begin at $600 and climb far, far upwards}. But then again, this is your honeymoon… Is there a better time to splurge on pretty underpinnings?
